In April we had another trip to Juba, South Sudan with a small team consisting of Ronald Gabrielsen (Norway/Poland), Ejnar Mikkelsen (Denmark), Eimund and Cassie Skjæret (Norway/USA). We started the trip travelling from three different countries, met in Paris, then travelled together to Nairobi.

During our days there we had seminars in the morning and campaign meetings in the evening. During the seminar we where teaching people on how to share the Gospel, pray for the sick and do the works Jesus did.

EVANGELISM SEMINAR IN SOUTH-SUDAN

12/12/2017

Picture
Now I am back again after a blessed and productive trip to South Sudan. Many got equipped to preach the Gospel, more than 700 received Jesus as their Saviour and God confirmed His word with signs and wonders.

I could see that the atmosphere was quite tense both in Kenya and South Sudan. In Kenya people started riots because of the presidential elections, and South Sudan also had a political reason for turbulence. Politicians should actually secure peace, but it often seems they do the opposite. It is just becoming clearer and clearer to me that true peace can only come when people receive inner peace, which is why we must preach the Gospel more clearly than ever before.

I got invited to South Sudan to lead a seminar about preaching the Gospel. Because of the political situation I was a little uncertain about travelling there, but fortunately I didn’t have to take that trip alone. Geoffrey Muthinja from Kenya, a good friend and co-worker, was willing to travel with me.

I taught about how to preach the Gospel and Geoffrey taught about the necessity to get equipped with the power from above. Both the topics were perfectly matched, which was also confirmed by the fruits of the preaching.

There was, among others, a woman who had been paralysed in one side due to a stroke and got instantly healed. The day after she was able to walk a lot for the first time and shop at a market without help, and afterwards she came to church to give glory to God. There was also a man who had been dumb since 2003 because of a virus and who started to speak again.

Every single day there happened many other miracles and those who participated in the seminar got on fire for evangelism. They began to see that if 700 could get saved within 7 days, they could also really make a change if they continued to go out with the Good News.

One of the teams which were out in the streets knocked on the door of a family where the wife was going to leave her husband. They started to talk to them and, as a result, Jesus - the Prince of Peace - brought peace and reconciliation to that home.

Another team knocked on the president’s door. They didn’t get to speak with the president himself, but they were allowed to preach to the soldiers and the other workers who were there. After preaching the Gospel they could see that many of the soldiers felt very moved.

I feel grateful when I recall the trip to South Sudan and it is a big privilege to be able to see people saved and equipped to preach the Gospel. It is possible, however, thanks to all of you who support us. Some have to travel and some have to send those who are willing to go. We are really grateful for all of the supporters and we know that God will reward you abundantly.

Seminar and conference in Mombasa!

28/11/2015

Picture
It has been a long time since I sent my last email. I have been very busy working in Norway, and in late September I had to go to the hospital for an operation. They removed my left kidney because of a tumor they found in it. I am now recovering and feeling fine, but the doctor told me to not do any long travels overseas this year.

Great preachers and leaders seminar in Mombasa.
The leaders seminars that I had planned in December is still going on, but it will be our son Ronald Gabrielsen that will be teaching together with Pastor Geoffrey Muthinja. They both has good experience in this teaching and I know it will be a great conference. We have almost 300 pastors from most parts of Kenya that are going through Vol. II of Million leaders mandate training and this time the training will focus on the important book of Maxwell, ”Failing Forward”. The training will be held at Shanzu Teacher Training School north of Mombasa where we started the Equip training many years ago. This time the training will be on Tuesday and Wednesday, the 8th and 9th of December.

Large Youth Conference the same week.
After having finished the leaders seminars on Wednesday, the Youth Conference will be onThursday and Friday at the same place. Ronald Gabrielsen is coming with a team of young people that will be helping in the conference and in the outreach. It was a great blessing to have them in the big conference in Maua last year, and they are all  excited about coming to Kenya again.

First weekend will be in Ongata Rongai.
During Ronald Gabrielsen last visit to Kenya with his team, they had a crusade with Pastor Dan Gitonga in Ongata Rongai, outside Nairobi, and this was a great blessing to the church there. Now he has invited them for a one day crusade Sunday the 6th of December. We are believing God for a great breakthrough this day.

What a great mission tour to Kenya again! I am on my way home from two fantastic weeks with meetings and seminars in several parts of the country. I just thank God for all his blessings, and I rejoice over all the great people I have met.

Startup among the Samburu people.
The first weekend I had the pleasure to visit Maralal again. We stayed in a new Lodge on Ngari Hills, overlooking the town. The church had invited some of the neighbor churches and the large building was packed with people. I was preaching in the service in the morning, and after a lunch I had two seminars in the afternoon.

It was great to hear many different of the Samburu singing groups praising God in their colorful clothes. In the seminars I was speaking about the need to reach every tribe and people group with the Gospel, and to be a witness of Jesus we need the power of the Holy Spirit, and Jesus told his disciples to wait in Jerusalem for this power. The power came on the day of Pentecost and is available for us today. Very many in the church had not yet received this power and spoken in new tongues as the Bible speak about, and as we prayed a great number of the people present received the power of the Holy Spirit and there were joy and dancing in the church!

friends from Egypt had a great outreach in Sudan

18/12/2012

As I have already mentioned in another email, we have been partly supporting some of my friends in Egypt that organized a mission outreach to Khartoum in Sudan. This outreach was a great blessing to many people there and they were reaching out to pastors and church leaders and organized conference for women and for young people.

Some of the group of almost 20 people had evangelistic outreach to different parts of Khartoum and were able to reach many with the good news of Jesus in addition to giving out Bibles. People experienced a real touch of the Lord for healing and many received him as their savior and Lord. I am very thankful to God for my dear friends from Egypt that can be able to help in reaching the great country of Sudan in this difficult time that the nation is experiencing.

On my way back home from a great mission tour!

6/12/2012

Picture
I am now on my way home from a great mission tour to South Sudan. I am very thankful to the Lord Jesus Christ for his love and mercy and for the rich blessings he gave us in meetings and seminars.

Two great days with the pastors and church leaders.
After having finished the two days with the Members of Parliament, we started the last training in The students2Million Leaders Mandate Volume I. The participants are full of excitement and they are just hungry for more. We learn from Maxwell that a leader is a learner, and now diplom1they are just looking forward to starting Volume II next year.

We had the training in Juba Christian Centre also this time, and Fermo Ogilla from Every Home for Christ and his team had arranged everything great. The last day we had the graduation with giving out of the Certificates, and we had 47 leaders that had finished all the 6 seminars over a period of approximately 3 years. In the picture you see pastor Charles from Yambio receiving his Certificate. Behind is our organizer, Fermo Ogilla.

Back from Kenya and South Sudan

13/9/2012

Picture
I just came back from an exciting mission tour to Kenya and South Sudan. It was such a great opportunity for me to meet Christian leaders and churches in both countries, and meet new and old friends.

Leadership seminars in Embu, Kenya.
After having arrived in Nairobi I was picked at the airport by my close friend and coworker for many years, Pastor Geoffrey Muthinja. The next day we drove to Embu where I lived some months with my family in 1974. Here I had two great days with about 45 leaders from East Africa Pentecostal Churches. I have been working together with many of them in the ministry for many, many years, and they are my close friends. I have a deep respect for the fruits of their labor in the Lords Kingdom for many years.

We had a tremendous time there in the presence of the Lord, and I felt led by the Lord to remind them how important it is to focus on the main thing – bringing souls to Jesus, being fishers of men and preparing the church for the soon returning Christ Jesus.

Egypt: Strong breakthrough in evangelism seminar

26/6/2012

Picture
I have just come back to Norway from a great mission tour to Egypt. I was teaching in a conference for leaders and evangelists that had a burden for bringing Jesus to new people. The conference took place in a town called Safaga, a town along the Red Sea, almost an hour drive south from Hurghada. It was a great joy for me to see all these men and women, most of them young, with a strong burden on their life to share Jesus with people in Egypt and other countries.

Our contribution is successful and means a lot!

Jan Ernst Gabrielsen was part of founding the large church movement, ”Sudan Pentecostal Churches”, at the end of the 70's and has been following the development very closely during the latest years. Before the 20-year-long civil war started in 1983, he had been to the country 15 times in order to preach and inspire the new church leaders and preachers there. He also helped them to have the movement registered by the authorities. Now there are more than 400 local churches there and they are experiencing strong growth in the work.

The last 6 years he has been visiting the country many times a year, teaching, equipping and training many hundreds of preachers and Christian leaders both from this movement and from the whole range of evangelical churches in the country. After the cease-fire between the north and south took place, Gabrielsen travelled to the capital of Sudan, Khartoum, in order to meet some of the leaders of Sudan Pentecostal Churches. He met many that he had known from the time before the civil war started, and many who came there afterwards. The seed that had been planted had brought rich fruit!
